Default Morons get hit by whaling ship.

AFP: Space-age powerboat 'sliced in two' by Japan whalers

Not that I support whaling but I can tell you that only a fool could get a small handy boat rammed buy a freaking whaling ship.

Ouch. That's going to put a damper on their operating budget.

Damn, it's a shame they busted that nice boat. It came into port at Ft. Lauderdale and would have traded my left nut to crew on it.

In my opinion, as a USCG licensed Master, the Whale Wars crew went over the line when they tried to foul the whale ship's props, which I saw them do on teevee last year. It's one thing to harrass with stink bombs or get between a ship and the whales. These are annoying but relatively harmless activities. Attempting to disable a ship's ability to navigate in the open ocean is different. That's like filing into someone brake lines when their car is at the top of a mountain.

Coming close to piracy, perhaps?

The truism, "Gross tonnage has the right of way." has some application here.

I'm guessing, having been on the bridge of a carrier that was shadowed and occasionally 'harassed' by the 'Big Bad' of the time, that the speedboat was maneuvering to get close enough to stink bomb or even attempt to foul the whaler, and he either miscalculated or the whaler 'accidentally' turned toward him, and they managed to occupy the same spot in the ocean.

Steel plate wins over CF.

Tit for tat, do they think they can pull their sh*t with impunity? I don't agree with whaling either and as far as I'm concered the Sea Shepards can do whatever they want to interfere with the Japanese. Just don't be surprised when they hit back.

I love the line in Southpark after they throw stink bombs.

Maybe not piracy, but certainly (IMO) criminal. They aren't whaling in the Bahamas; that is dangerous water down there. If they did disable the ship and a storm blew in; perhaps causing a capsize and death, would the Whale Hores be ok with that? I'm vehemently opposed to whaling, it's one step below murder in my viewpoint. But there are other ways to deal with it, the most obvious being removing the "research" loophole in current maritime laws.

If they want to be "real whale warriors" they should man up and buy some f'ing guns.
