The idiots create all these market distortions and then claim the solution is more gov't.

Anytime someone is for Obamacare, just ask them to explain to you how the system got screwed up by not enough gov't. Can't be done!

Well, obviously the writer has a vested interest in an Oil Company - like the Evil Bush, he should not be trusted to so much as wipe himself. And as such, every keystroke he typed is pure Insanity, Rhetoric, and just plain Stupidity.

These are not the BioDiesel Droids you are looking for.

Trust the Government - it knows what is best for you down to a micro-level - Ignore that man behind the Curtain!

Unlike us it seems the EU activly tries to protect its domestic industries, in the U.S. it seems the gov'ment works quite the opposite........

Problem with diesel vehicles in America is education. Euros understand the benefits of diesel vehicle ownership, but here diesels are considered dirty and slow. American's think that all diesels are one-ton pickup motors. VW, MB and Audi all have diesels that are more than fun to drive. If they marketed those cars here like they do in Europe then the bio fuel geeks could sell more domestically. Maybe not enough to overcome the shortfall in Europe, but close enough to know that they could have something to build on in the future.

Whoa Nelly. Let's not assign all these altruistic motives to the Euros. The only thing they understand about diesel is that it doesn't have a huge gasoline tax on it. Just a little gov't market distortion at work.

Diesels have gotten a lot better over the years but all you need is to look at the diesel soot covering your average Euro city to know it ain't all pleasant.

Comparing today's diesel (2005- up) to yesterdays gas (1990-2000) I'd say that the diesel has a shot emitting the same or lower levels of polutants. The VW/Audi diesels that run around ATL you could barely pick out of a crowd in rush hour. Not the cleanest, but much cleaner than 10 yrs ago.

I rented a Golf TDI in Germany a few years back. It did neat rolling burnouts.

Also cruised at 90 MPH, getting 30 MPG. By my distorted calculations, anyway.
