Default Tasty Cafe Nightster

I really dig this cafe'd-out Nightster.

The only thing I'd change is that I'd weld some tubing to the seat base extending straight back over the rear tire, parallel to the ground, and put a Ducati-style solo tailsection and seat on it.

Full article here.

Yeah. It looks like any pea gravel would be picked up by the tire and thrown onto the back of the rider's head. Riding without adequate fenders is foolish. Don't ask me how I know this.

Those cafe bars on the deus-special look painful. The rat bike looks like a shirtload of fun; just what you need to come through the neighborhood on after closing the bars at 4:00 am.

I rode that thing all summer. Now you know why my neighbors hate me. Serously, I got that bike for a song. it didn't run and needed some serious attention. I got it fixed up and running like a champ in about 3 weeks for very little dough. Cool S&S B carb hanging out there. Loud when you want it to be. I sold it about a month ago and made 1500 on the turnover, and the guy that bought it couldn't pay me fast enough. It was a really fun bike. My current 72 is getting torn down right now. The motor is on the floor and shyt laying everywhere. It will be ready by spring. Stop in and take it for a rip.

Right down Lakeshore in 2ond gear, WFO!

I shoulda got something like an old Sporty instead of that Yamaha for my project bike. The Yamaha parts have to be ordered from around the friking country; the HD stuff is everywhere.

All four gears WFO and I'm there! Old Sporties have lots going for them, and they can still be had dirt cheap. Easily the best sounding Harley along with the Shovel. Nothing else comes close.

The guy who was later to become my brother in law moved back home after getting busted smuggling pot on a sailboat in about '72 (part of the parole deal was staying with his folks). He was living in the barn, and built a super-clean Ironhead (we didn't call it that then) chopper. Every morning he'd go out and kick-start it (not easily) and let it sit at a fast idle for a few minutes to warm up. It would blast the leaves and grass 20' away...and was the coolest sound I'd ever heard.
