Yay! A day off! Yesterday the IBCT CDR said there was only 1/3 of 1% of the population currently serving, sad. Here's to all that came before, Thanks! Even you squid guys... j/k This appears to be the most Navy forum around and it is interesting to hear your stories.

Yeah, and they reward us by taking away our medical benefits if we make too much money. You can thank GWB for that. One of the worst presidents ever. You can thank him for the Obamanator.

If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't, not for the USSA as it is now. And knowing that I'd get the saftus maximus from the veterans medical when I needed it most.

But it was a blast. Night ops off the coast of Spain, missle-x dets in Souda Bay....the hostage crisis...all like tears in the rain.

Hell I'd do it again, I liked being a BT. Maybe even stay in. I almost shipped over last time to come up with the coin for a new '79 Low Rider except I didn't want to get sent to Florida which was the other East coast carrier homeport.

It was really only a fluke I joined the Navy in the first place, my original thought was to join the Marines or Army and blow sh*t up.....probably better off having been in the Nav work wise, running boilers has turned out to be a pretty decent gig.

Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.
