Poll: Obama's popularity below average
Tue, 03 Nov 2009 06:36:49 GMT US President Barack ObamaUS President Barack Obama's approval rating continues to decline nearly one year after his arrival to the White House, a new poll shows. Obama's popularity fell from 70 percent on the inauguration day in January to 53 percent in October, Gallup Daily tracking poll indicated. At the end of the first 100 days in office in late April, Obama still enjoyed more positive reviews than his predecessors in the previous 20 years. However, the fall was soon to come as questions started about the president's ability to pull the US economy out of recession. In July, popularity of the first African-American president of the US dipped even below that of predecessor George W. Bush for the same period of his presidency. Since mid-October, it has hovered just above 50 percent, a significant drop from his earlier numbers, editor in chief of the Gallup Poll Frank Newport said. "In general, this puts Obama's current ratings slightly below average for all US presidents since World War II," said Newport. The US unemployment rate, Afghanistan and Iraq wars, healthcare reform plans, and the ongoing economic problems are among the drivers of Obama's declining approval rating.

Well, the US public is pretty fickle. I wouldn't read too much into this. The next election will be the usual whirlpool of wild promises of free swag for everyone, stolen from "the rich". (No one seems to ever notice that the richest people in the world are almost all lefties, which should lead any thinking person on a wondrous journey of discovery.) The looters and moochers will all fall for the siren song of "free stuff".
Each Party has been declared "dead" more times than I can name. Look how Clinton managed to survive. Of course, Obama is a joke of a politician compared to ol' Bill. And Bill didn't go around telling the world how bad his own country is. I thnink that was too much for the less wacky Dems. But never underestimate the power of "Free Stuff". Never mind that the free stuff is never really delivered.

Right-wing = doesn't like Obama's policies. Conspiring = doesn't like Obama's policies. Bastiches = doesn't like Obama's policies. Does that cover it? I wonder if the progressives realize just how worthless they have made the word "rascist". It used to mean "someone who believes that one race is genetically superior to another race." Now it apparently just means someone who opposes liberals. It doesn't mean anything any more. Just another overused insult like fascist or nazi. They kind of really wiped out the word nazi by using it against Bush all the time. Anyone who really believes that Bush was a nazi is a fool. Fascist got pretty much overused starting in the late 60s. Calling the University President at Harvard a fascist was pretty silly really. And ironic because the current leaderships at many colleges are actually fascist now, if one uses the proper definition of a fascist. Govt control of private industry = classical fascism. That is the most prevalent view of economics in academia now.

Hardy-har-har. Well, they must have caught some sh** for that, because not ten minutes ago I saw the same commercial, and the "We're Americans!" was dropped. The disconnect between H'wood and the rest of America is galactic. Kind of like that between the rest of America and, oh, Harvard Law School...

Oh Brother Where Art Thou was funny....the rest stunk though. Liberals never can understand why the rest of the country doesn't agree with them, their arrogance makes them think people must just be stupid for not seeing things their way. That's why they can never hold a majority in political office, Humphry's silent majority gets tired of being looked down on and throws them out on their backsides every time.
I don't agree with everything the GOP stands for and I'm probably more left leaning than some but these guys screw the pooch every time without fail. For as smart as they think they are you think they'd catch on over what, the last 50 years of losing almost every election

Don't worry. After 3 more years of 'The Messiah', he'll be WAY below average. Right down there with, dare I say it, JIMMY CARTER!
