Obviously YOU haven't played Metal Gear Solid or any of its derivatives.............

Solid Snake is one kickass mofo'er. More boot-kickin' than Rambo could ever dream up.

God, do I despise movies like that. It's "white man's burden" with a smiling liberal face. Dances with Wolves, A Man Called Horse, The Last Samurai... it's all the same insulting, condescending plot:

White man is disillusioned with white man's culture.
White man embraces brown man's culture.
White man is accepted into brown man's culture.
White man saves brown man, usually through application of white man ways.

Dances with Wolves is probably the worst, but for sheer wrong-headedness, you can't beat The Last Samurai. We're supposed to feel bad for the passing of a fascist military warrior class who weren't above summarily decapitating any peasant who didn't bow and scrape enough.

I read a lot of colonial American history. The eastern woodland Indians did things that would make Torquemada puke. The sickest cruelty you can imagine.

I actually enjoyed those movies, even though I know they were BS. I look at them more like pretty fairy tales.

However the world is much better off with the passing of the Samurai. Oh yeah, and the Aztecs too. Try reading about the real Aztecs some time, not the desconstructionist propaganda version. Cortez did the locals a real favor.

Apocalipto is pretty good, amazing for a Mel Gibson flick. I'm surprised he didn't find a way to insert an Englishman into the plot and blame him for the Mayans "excess's"

First lock the village women and children in a church and burn it to the ground while we drink tequila and laugh at their screams........

You left out the most annoying part of all: Tom Cruise. Besides, the Samurai culture was actually great...if you were a Samurai. It's all about perspective.
