A friend of mine posted this on her Facebook page this morning:

My third grader was just elected Valedictorian of his class (2019) based on his great "hope" for a successful academic career. He is hoping to have the highest GPA, so why not? He is wildly popular with the 3rd graders around the world, though some in his class here at home would like to see him actually accomplish something first (they're probably just a bunch of lunchroom tea partiers, decaffinated of course).

I told her I would happily attend his ceremony wearing my empty suit.
