Nancy Pelosi can't win the arguments, so she turns on the hysteria:

“I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw — I saw this myself in the late ’70s in San Francisco, this kind of — of rhetoric was very frightening and it gave — it created a climate in which we — violence took place... And so I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made, understanding that — that some of the people — the ears it is falling on are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume... But, again, our country is great because people can say what they think and they believe, but I also think that they have to take responsibility for any incitement that they may cause.”

I'm wracking my brain, but I'll be damned if I can think of what late-'70s San Francisco political violence she's referring to. Is she senile or is she just making sh** up?

The Moscone and Milk assassinations and the vibe surrounding that time frame. As in now where nobody can civilly speak to anyone without pointing fingers and getting pi$$ed. Hence Sarnali's cant we all get along blog post a few daze back.

They happened about the time all those black churches were burning in Arkansas.

I do remember being told as a serviceman to wear civvies in Than Franthithco when I came back from Nam. The violence she is talking about comes from her own people.

Absolutely nothing. It's just another diversion from the reality that these idiots in Washington are nuts. I don't think they get the hint until someone yells in their face, and then they label them nuts, racist, redneck, or whatever to make them feel better about themselves. It's all part of the 'change' and 'hope' you heard tell about.
