Default Not 4 Bikes - yet. Hybrid Extrication Guidelines

This has nothing to do with motorcycles.

Yet.

The link Emergency Responder Guide Lines leads you to a site that contains information and further links to the various manufacturers.

Therein is important information on what actions to take and cautions to observe when taking on an 'extrication' of passengers from a Hybrid (or other battery-driven) vehicle.

I believe the bottom line is to be very careful, and DON'T CUT THE ORANGE WIRE! Apparently the blue and red wires may be cut at will.

Why post this? I think many of the members of this forum are the kind of person that is most likely to help at the scene of an accident. It would be a cast-iron b*tch if you got electrocuted or burned while you were trying to help.

Damn! I could see where that could be an issue with first responders that aren't auto savy.

I think that people should buy SmartCars instead of hybrids. That way when they get in wrecks the entire thing can be buried. Saves funeral costs since buying a SmartCar provides you with a coffin at the same time.

I saw some clown on I-15 between two semis in a SmartCar yesterday. LOL! Finally there's a vehicle that's worse in a crash than a motorcycle.

It's only worse because there's more shrapnel to pick up!
