My Dad built an engine for a GT Wagon in the late '70s for HIS Dad - he did all the "tricks" (moly rings, upgraded pump, bronze guides, drilling-out a couple of oil passages) to make it continue to run, but hedged his bets with a spare cylinder-head for the thing. It's still sitting in the basement of Dad's house, though I scrapped the car a year ago. It was running pretty well when parked; Dad just didn't have have time to mess with it.

I was more-afraid of that "Guillotine" hood than anything else on the car.

Every three months the thing was in the shop. The horn would honk every time you turned on the air conditioner or turned on the radio. The transmission had to replaced after 5 months. I think it would have been better to let them go under and take the hit now. Ford can compete. Toyota and Honda will just build more here as the dollar falls. Keep in mind both Bush and Obama committed to help the auto companies. The UAW has to take the blame for some of this as well. The pension and health care costs are totally out of wack with the rest of the labor market.
The Horn honking was not the reason you got the middle finger every time someone passed you no matter what you think.

I shouldn't have been riding it but I was getting too ****y about my ability. My neck is sore but I am ok otherwise.
One killed my half-brother, bucked him off over the front, snapped his neck. A quarterhorse in Malad Idaho almost trampled me when I was about 12, got spooked in the barn and went nutz, bucking and kicking everything in sight.

Glad you're OK there KP. Stay with the steel horses. They might be dangerous too, but don't have a mean little brain the size of an orange, and weigh 1500 lbs.

KP, I really am glad you're not Dead and all, but if you decide to continue being crazy - I still vote you should be tossed out on your ear.
