Best car I owned as a teen was a 74 Duster. Back when quality and Chrysler could be used in the same sentence.

Right Ken, don't let those those facts get in the way of an uninformed opinion. When MLK did his marches, he wanted to prove that the North was MORE hostile and segregated than the South. He proved his point when he marched through Cicero Illinois and almost got killed. Cicero is a Democratic stronghold of Illinois like Chicago. Now go look THAT up. No don't. I'll do it for you.

I was raised in Rhode Island and courtesy of Uncle Sam have lived in Oklahoma, California, Alabama and Colorado as well as 5 tours overseas. The south is no more racist or bigoted than anywhere else including Europe. The people here are just more honest about how they feel.

Dazzle 'em with numbers! 94% of those reading them will think you might be on to something, and the other 6% are stoopid R soles!

I've got a Super Duper Chrysler Town & Country minivan (don't know how they can call it a "mini" anything) that get's 22 MPG and can cruise at 90mph + 'cause of that Mitzibooshi engine & transmisison!

And I understand you can get zillions of miles out of the damn things too.

Yes Matt, that is correct. In the SOUTH, the Democrats were the sole party from the time of Lincoln till the 1960s. In the 1960s, when civil rights became a NATIONAL Democratic issue, the Southern Democrats moved to the Republican Party. C'mon, who was the single greatest Civil Rights President: LBJ. Preceded by JFK.

LongRide, the same answer. Modern civil rights were led by Democrats. We should also give credit to a very liberal Supreme Court.

Yeah Ken, like old Strom Thurmond...He conducted the longest filibuster ever by a U.S. Senator in opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1957, at 24 hours and 18 minutes in length, nonstop.

And a grand wizzard in the KKK too, what a guy. And a Democrat too.
