Default The Gun Show

was PACKED! It was at the armory with wall to wall tables and guns/knives/etc. Lots and LOTS of guns, I think Obamalamadingdong would have had a heart attack just walking in the door. There were quite a few AR/assault type rifles and 30 round pistol mags. The only ammo I couldn't find there was the .380 ACP I need. I did find a nifty muzzle brake/compensator for my 9mm Carbine though.

It was too funny following my buddy back from the Gun show at the Cow Palace a few years ago when he had a case of 308 in each soft saddle bag on his K12S. Little over the weight limit, I was keeping a close eye on them while riding as close to the lane marker as possible. Kept picturing them letting go and dumping all over the lane in front of me. Not the kinda marbles you want to ride over.

You know, when you finally have a lot of guns, you have to CLEAN THEM once and a while. This sometimes takes weeks of oiling, reeming, scraping, brushing, patching, 1 week cleanings, two week, three...etc.etc.

Then you're always out of Hoppes. Or patches. Or that special chamber brush rolled behind the workbench and you can't get to it.

That's why I hate to go shooting anymore, just the thought of cleaning that mossy old bore on the Mauser, for weeks, is enough to make me throw in the towel.

I have the cleaning solution, use your buddy's gun. Saves on ammo costs too. Or am I the only one with a Buddy who likes me to shoot his socom II while he is messing with his sniper rifle? Everyone needs an armed spotter right?

I don't mind the cleaning. I rarely shoot all of them at the same time at the range so there's a nice pattern to the cleaning.

I don't thin k so.

Matt is still writing a certain SUV driver's name on the side of all the bullets he shoots...

Default Someday...

My dream handgun: Colt M1911
My dream rifle: Springfield M1 Garand
My dream "hunting" firearm: M-16

I guess I'm just old-school at heart.
