Wow, glad to see it's not my imagination. I have never seen the number and agressiveness of speed traps that we're getting down here. They're on every corner...

What a bunch of cry babies, "I was doing 45 in a 35 and I got a ticket, then my son did, then my other son did"

Guess you're whole family is as stupid as you huh?....

Don't want a ticket? pay attention and drive the speed limit

Ha ha ha. I've got absolutely no sympathy. Most of you have been enthusiastically voting for every govt power grab that came down the pike as long as it was couched in the rhetoric you like best. Now that with your indulgence and apathy Federal State and Local govts have become out-of-control ravenous beasts of untrammeled greed some of you act all hurt. Don't make me laugh.

It was okay when the "rich" were being looted. The shoe is on the other foot now. How does it feel, losers?

Cops would love to rid themselves of mandates. I am related to, know and insure dozens of cops and they would prefer to not use tickets as a source of revenue generation. It pisses them off as bad as it does us. Some ignore mandates, but mostly they are told at rollcall what the mandate of the day is and soldier on doing their jobs. I wouldn't pick on the individual cops, but I would pile onto the county commisions or chief.

What an analysis. It's hardly that complex: The economy has been crushed, and the various city, county, and state budgets have lost significant tax revenue. So, what's an easy way to make it up? Send cops out to write tickets. A marine officer recently told me he was instructed to write every infraction no matter what the circumstances...

Tyranny is tyranny no matter how many "reasonable" excuses can be found for it.

The idea that maybe some lazy worthless govt time servers should get laid off never crosses their greedy minds.

It's not tyranny unless it's an illegal stop, then it's harrassment. If someone is exceding the legally posted limit then they're subject to getting a ticket.

I don't know how it is in some other states but in Wa. a reduced speed ahead sign with the new limit on it has to be posted X number of yards ahead of a lower speed zone area. You have that amount of space to slow down in, if you're still above the new limit when you pass the lower posted limit sign you're in violation. A cop could be sitting a foot after the new sign and write you up and it's a legal stop. It's up to the driver to pay attention

If using police power for the sole purpose of filling govt coffers isn't tyranny then there is no tyranny.
