The point, of course, is that if anyone thinks that electing Obama as President will cause us to be loved by our enemies, just because he isn't George Bush, that person is doomed to disappointment.

I doubt very few people are dumb enough to think our real enemies will love our Prez no matter who he is. It's repairing our relationships with our long-time allies, and nations that are "on the fence," that matters. Doing that gives us far more credibility and strength when dealing with those enemies than on our own.

BTW: did you see W's farewell press conference yesterday? Pretty interesting stuff there...

"It's repairing our relationships with our long-time allies,.."

Like the ones that were buying oil behind our backs and constructing underground bunkers for Saddam when we had the U.N. embargo on Iraq? You do mean those 'long time' allies, right?

Who are our friends- Ken? Canadians? Can't even protect themselves. Superpowers? We're it. Japan. Well, they have things and we use their things so they love us no matter what. China? They'll love us as long as we're in debt to them. S Korea? That whole war thingy in the 50's has us set for life. Australia? BBQ is still BBQ no matter where you grill it. England. We're stuck together like Blyle in Basketcase. Euroweenies? Germany doesn't have an issue with us. Screw France. Spain is lame. Almost eveyone else is neutral.
The only haters- North Africa, most of the Middle East, Russia and some areas that are considered Asia. Well, d@mn if those are the original haters. What's changed then? We decided after a decade of being picked at like dead prey to stand up and kick some muslim butt. Sorely needed. Israel is taking Hamas to task finally. But Syria, Iran and Afgans will have an issue with us well after we and our kids are dust. As far as the "fence" setters go. Fvck them. They will always be fence sitters. They will do everything they can to remain politically neutral no matter what. Regardless of how "right" we are and who we convince the "fence" sitter will do nothing.

"Every body hates us because of Bush."

Another propaganda lie. We have an excellent working relationship with many nations. A better line would be: "Moochers and looters all over the world hate us because of Bush." And it's ironic because Bush is a Big Govt Socialist. If there was a "D" behind his name and he did all the things he did, the very people who hate him now would be defending him.

But it doesn't matter at all because the left has become so consumed with hate that they'd be calling for Bush's impeachment if the Iraq War never happened. In fact there were calls for impeachment long before 9-11. It's how they operate now. Everyone who disagrees with The One will be branded a hater and will be marginalized. The only way everyone can be "brought together" politically is with coercion.

Follow the money. The best way for foreign govts to get big checks is to tell Uncle Sam how much they hate him. The billions roll forth.
