Well no... The VFR is too heavy to be a sportbike, you KNOW the Duc wouldn't be, and the VFR V-4 doesn't put out nearly as much power as it could, it's been tweaked and prodded over the years to be a nicely powered reliable daily workhorse of an engine, and I have the feeling that the Duc wouldn't be. Additionally, the VFR is only 800cc's and if Duc DID make a V-4 for GP competition, it'd undoubtedly be just under the 1000cc limit, and would probably be a screamer to boot.

I sure hope somebody from Ducati will read your post. If they try to hard to stick to the uniqueness of the Ducati family they will end up just like Harely. Well actually they have won enough WSBK and AMA events that they will never slump to HD levels but still.....
