The RS^3 or RS-Cube is the Aprilia 3 cylinder GP bike. They are using a 990cc triple, with pneumatic valves.

Since it is a tripple, it is RS to the 3rd power, or RS Cube

Aprilia hopes it's a Borg super-motorcycle, rather than a something.

Technically, I think this is the most interesting struggle of the season. Aprilia seems serious.

I thought they dropped the pneumatic valves because of weight/bulk issues...?

Personally, I understand why they call it RS3, but I think RS-cube is dumb... Kinda like those internet geeks who like to say W3 instead of www

Tops speeds at Suzuka -

Rossi's RC211V 195mph

Capirex's NSR -189mph

Laconi's RS3 - 188mph

The Aprilia must be putting down almost identical hp to the NSR - 13 lbs heavier, 1mph down. i seriously doubt about its claim of 220hp. however i most definetly believe the RC211V claim of 220-225hp.

Nah, it still has the valves and it makes the most serious power, maybe only second to the honda, if not as powerful. They both have similar top speeds.

Nah, it's just struggling to get that power to the ground. If Vali can launch the RCV good enough, he can get it over 200 mph on that straight. The Rs is doing about 191 today.

Aprila might be having problems with the cube, but it appears they are having even more problems with the English Language!

Without no previous tests, no references: it was a start from scratch.

"Without no", you have got to be kidding! Won't even address the rest of the grammer. Please, tell me that this was from the Press Release and not minime or the crasher of large expensive motorcycles (That would be you Mr Burns).

IMHO, they should be glad that it didn't spit someone off or blow up this early in its life cycle!
