A sneak peak at project 2-4 over at superhunky.com.
Here's what you do when your 3 year old four stroke MX bike explodes, and it costs more than a used cherry '70 El Camino to fix: Rick Sieman: SuperHunky.com Oh, and it will be sporting a down pipe too, just to pi$$ the Pepsi generation off. With a Skyway silencer of course...

Looks like an awesome project!
How about putting an RD350 engine in there? I've seen it done on some hillclimbers and they look sweet. I still maintain, however, that the "4 stroke revolution" is not entirely the fault of the manufacturers. The consumer base is just as guilty. Many riders preferred 4 strokes, especially when they were unbreakable rocks like XR600s. The Japanes just gave us what they thought we wanted.

Pete, the big 4 didn't give us what we wanted, they forced these fragile, heavy four strokes down our throats, in some lame attempt to appease the green side and in the process gleen more $$$$ from the riding public since they couldn't work on their own bikes anymore.
An RD would be great for a hillclimber, but what we are doing is trying to give a viable alternative to the poor bastard with a three year old CRF450 that has exploded, and hasn't the 3K to fix it. A few hundred bucks, a good used 250 or 500cc two stroke, a few motor mounts and some big 1/2 inch grade 5 bolts, a few washers and you're back in the saddle with a better machine then you started with.

Yeah, but all those 1/2" nuts and bolts and the wrenches would keep floating-away.......
