Funny! I was just talking about that (blowing tubes) with a fellow ex-Navy guy yesterday! He was talking about how bad the ash was on his FFG!

I told him, "You have no idea..."


(Sorry! For you non-seafaring sorts, a FFG (Frigate) has a LM2500 Gas Turbine. Your Diesel, Fleet Marine-burning Aircraft Carrier has 'D'-type uncontrollable superheat boilers. Which get really sooted up.)

Adjusted the valves on the Honda Chair this afternoon (raining) so I've got it in the hoist, and I uncork the exhaust valve cover, and about 10 gallons of 15/40 dello pours out all over everything, me, the tool box, the floor (of course). Now I know here they hide all that extra oil! Jeez, it was like working on an old XK150. What a mess. And that's just a 70cc motor! Those bastards at Honda. Always something.
