Default R.I.P. Adelanto Grand Prix 1980-2010

2010 will be the last running of the famed Adelanto Grand Prix, another victim of this rotten economy. Adelanto officials and the Vipers couldn't come up with enough cash to police and stage the event, along with trash services and ambulance fees. The Desert Vipers put on a fantastic event for thirty years, it's like an old friend passing away.

Where else could you take a somewhat stock DT2 Enduro, and dice it out with the trick MX bikes of days gone by, and win?

Aldeanto City officials also cited that none of the racers were using any of the city's resources, such as hotels or resturants. Even though the closest hotel is 11 miles away on I-395, and there is only one Mexcian food place in town, off main street, that holds about 15 people.

I'll be there Sunday rain or shine to get my last few T-Shirts and AGP stickers.

Another one bites the dust, like Corriganville (Hopetown) and Elsinore, a part of history now.

A sad day indeed.
A gun is a tool, Marian; no better or no worse than any other tool: an axe, a shovel or anything. A gun is as good or as bad as the man using it. Remember that.

Yes but the sand fleas will be safe.
