I'm searching for a sticker that says (complete with bar and shield) "I don't own a Harley Davidson - just this cheesy sticker"

Then I'll put it on my $59 made-in-china tail-trunk that's mounted atop my FZ6. I'll probably also put one on the back-window of my Wife's '89 MR2..........

Try riding a 600 Bandit. Sheesh. The sportbike posers look down on it, the Harley guys look down on it, the 1200 Bandit guys wonder why you bought the 600...

I love it, though. Especially with my Givis. I feel like the guy who dates the mousy girl who's a tiger in the sack and will cook you dinner.

Well, this has been a pretty fun exercise in PC we-are-the-motorcyle-world kumbaya we-are-all-brothers feel good claptrap, but everyone konws that the best motorcyclists own 5 bikes of which two are I-4s (one shaft drive), one V-4 and 2 offroad singles (one two-stroke). All other beliefs/opinion/ideas are inferior.

All kneel to Zod.

I've had Harley-riders pull over and offer to help, when sportbike-guys just look and keep on keepin'-on (once on my wife's Ninja, no less). I always stop for a lone-biker alongside the road - he might be consulting a map, or he might be in need of an ambulance. Would you (not YOU you, but the general "you") like that on your conscience?

As a reformed chopper rider (that's a chopper, not a cruiser and a Triumph not a H-D) and now sportbike rider I have two admitted and enjoyed prejudices against cruisers.

Noise and motorcycling.

I live in Long Beach... great city. Can't hear yourself scream on the weekends. Cruisers come through with straight pipes and I swear sound reinforcement to make the pipes louder. Lane splitters on Sunday morning not happy with how traffic is moving will, and I've no better term for this, fart their engines to try intimidate cars into moving out of their way. Loud pipes don't save lives riding skills save lives.

Other types of motorcyclists do this, sure. But they don't actually vibrate pictures off my walls when they do. The noise is embarrassing as a rider and generates negativity towards motorcycling in general.

Which brings me to part 2... motorcycling. Waving at other riders has been a part of riding for me for 18 years. Cruisers rarely do it. Now, I've always thought that it's because they can barely control the bike... which may be true in a lot of cases... but it's also a sign of bad motorcycling. Poor community spirit. Loud pipes, overtly aggressive or intimidating riding styles, and often a completelack of any proper riding gear all reflect badly on the community as a whole. Sometimes I think every middle-aged man with an H-D suddenly thinks he joined the Hell's Angels. I know not EVERY cruiser rider is like this... just like not every sportbike rider goes 150mph ALL the time... but it seems the majority of the riders I see on cruisers fit the bill.

Do I hate cruiser riders. No... as was posted in another article they pay for the R&D for my sportbike. I like that. There are some fantastic cruiser riders out there as has been said. But if you come blasting up the street with 200db of sound coming out the rear and a penchant for blipping the throttle every 10 seconds... you're not a rider... you're not even a squid... you're just pathetic and either mommy didn't love you enough or daddy loved you too much.
