..first post ...
A thousand bucks, two thousand bucks. More? I can buy a slew of maps and troll the internet for food, drinks, and lodging and ride the same public roads. Now, if we're talking pubic areas for those $$$, I might consider. Please explain. Maybe I can save some money on those damn maps. |

Tell you what, you map out a 7 day motorcycle tour, locate and pay for quality hotels, pick out a good restaurant for each night and pick up the tab, and have some staff to take care of any emergency that may come up. If you can do that for under $1500 a head, I'll sign up.

I'm with you Lowrez - there's usually a justifiable reason for the price when taking a packaged tour, and I wish I was joining Fred on this one.
Svtech, good luck finding that pubic tour, I'll take the public tour! :P -fonzie

The pubic tour is available at Subic Bay. You can get all the pubic you want at Subic. Cheap too!

Great sounding tour, great, something else on the "to do" list. Of course I'd have to ride there.

I hope no one minds if I jump in.
When Fred first came on tour with us in 1998, he was pretty sure organized tours were a waste of money and had planned to write an article about us that basically said "save your money and do it yourself". He was quite surprised to discover that the tour was indeed worth the money and was one of the best vacations he'd ever had. He ended up giving it a "highly recommended" rating and no one was more surprised about that than himself. Is an organized tour worth the money? If the tour company is really good, the answer is absolutely yes. It's like deciding if it's worthwhile to go to a really good restaurant for dinner. I can't be objective of course because I run NMT but that whole question of value has been discussed in many of the reviews various magazines have done of our tours. I mind if you jump in. The last thing we want around here is informed and reasonable discourse. We expect company owners to jump into forums frothing at the mouth and threatening to sue anyone bad mouthing their company.
If you can't do that, at least send us coupons. |
