You're a good man Charlie Brown. I agree with the emotion expressed. You also did a good job pf writing what most of us believe. I'll add one from Hunter S. Thompson. I quote it every time a client expresses concern i might be killed racing just before a trial. "It's better to be shot out of a cannon than squeezed out of a tube." The lessons your dad taught you were well learned by you. i am certain he is quite proud.

You are a lucky man. You had 12 great years with your dad. Some of us live a life time with our parents around and don't get a single good year.

Sean:
Your story touched me on so many levels that it's hard to catch my breath. My only wish is that every one of us has memories, of their dads, like yours. You may be luckier than you'll ever know. Happy Thanksgiving to one and all, Kevin

Your dad sounds like a hell of a guy, you're right to be proud of him.

Thanks for telling us that story. You are so right about life.
Thought I might share a poem from Spoon River Anthology George Gray I have studied many times The marble which was chiseled for me— A boat with a furled sail at rest in a harbor. In truth it pictures not my destination But my life. For love was offered me and I shrank from its disillusionment; Sorrow knocked at my door, but I was afraid; Ambition called to me, but I dreaded the chances. Yet all the while I hungered for meaning in my life. And now I know that we must lift the sail And catch the winds of destiny Wherever they drive the boat. To put meaning in one's life may end in madness, But life without meaning is the torture Of restlessness and vague desire– It is a boat longing for the sea and yet afraid. by Edgar Lee Masters |

Nice, Sean. But i think if your dad was here, he'd kick your ass first for those gay flamer boots that are still on the home page. then he'd tell u to get off your butt and give johnny something meaty to read. sv650 vs concours vs klr650 Geekbike Shootout. etc.
