You might want to check the CHP's accident record. It's superb considering the incredible amount of miles they ride per year.

I think the cops ride side by side for "presence" which is a large part of law enforcement.

And let's face it, who wouldn't love to wear those pants!???

Default Skills!

I am not questioning their skills, no doubt what you say regarding their accident record is true. Who wants to be in a serious accident though wearing a short sleeve shirt and half helmet? I just wonder, considering they are the law, why they don't even meet the minimum standards for safety equipment?

Yeah, we just got new Harleys up here in North Louisiana. I can't believe these idiot depts. still insist on buying air-cooled bikes knowing the type of heat and humidity we have here. But, the cheif was a big Harley fan before he took the job. There is just something so Villiage People about a motorcycle cop though.

The half helmets are so they can speak without removing a full-face. If you stopped somebody and needed to talk to them, you can't fumble with the chin strap.

Of course, I hear a lot of euro cops are going the flip-top route ...

Ha...haha. As much as I love a good Harley bashing....this isn't a good one. I've been into the One-teens several times on my Harley and it has the 80" EVO. And no, hills were not involved. (Although I do believe it was leaking a small bit of oil at the time).

Cuz the dip***** was a quarter-mile closer. I think officer #2 might have gotten trouble in the courts if he'd ridden right by him and come back in 5. Who knows, though? Maybe he's just a really nice guy.

A lot of the cops here wear flip front helmets and Aerostitch type textile suits in the winter. Makes a lot more sense than the ever stylish tight short sleeve shirt, leather jacket and jodhpurs.

They're usually on BMWs or Harleys, don't see too many Kawasakis anymore.

I'd like to think that it was just a Motorcyclists instinct to help a fallen rider and assign blame later, doesn't seem just though. I'm sure that if his partner was the closest he would have helped him first.
