Default Re: Winter, Carnal Urges, and Redlining

Where I ride Thundercats are worthless. I live in Oregon and ride in the Cascade Mountains. Here it's important to have not only lot's of horsepower, but also light weight and BIG tracks. The best sleds around here are the Polaris RMK series. The current champs are some piped 700 RMK's with several weight-saving chassis mods. When the snow flies we'll see how the new 800 in the edge chassis does.

I think the reason MO wants to cover snowmobiles is just so they can buy this new toy on company money and justify the time they spend playing on it. Hey, i say more power to 'em.

But if you're gonna do it, do it right. Don't tell us about how it works on the trails, and how fast it gets across the meadow/lake. None of that matters. Tell us how it works in the steep and deep powder. How well does it climb, sidehill, etc. Is it one of those sleds that just wants to bury itself rather than move forward (doubt that)? I sort of hate to say it, but seeing as how you have no snowmobile experience, and it takes at least a couple seasons of riding before you can begin to approach riding a sled like the revolt the way it's intended to be ridden, i'm afraid your review may be pretty worthless from any viewpoint other than that of other people who have never before ridden a snowmobile.

Also, like others have said, that is definitely not a firsttimers sled. Surely it won't be so uncontrollable that you will be unable to ride it. But i seriously doubt you'll be able to ride it well.

If you're looking for a power trip, you have come to the right place. There's just something great about having a large displacement multicyclinder 2-stroke engine up on the boil and charging hard uphill in the powder. The triples sound even cooler than the twins.

I'm not sure that i support MO adding snowmobile coverage (honestly, will there be anything other than an article on this one sled?) but i can understand them using it as a means to get to play with a new toy. : )

Have fun guys! And don't be wusses, get that thing OFF the trails and up in the untracked hills!

Default It kick ass big time!!!

My mechanic last year is also the main test rider for AD Boivin, he just ride it like his CR, well almost.

On a mx track he clear most of the jumps, up to some 70' table tops.

I haven't found the time to ride it but I've been told it ride like a cross between a bike, a snowmobile and a watercraft, it lean over quite far in powdery snow.
