I agree with some of your points, but the Valk is a high rever. Also the Harley makes 75 lb/ft of TQ. That is pretty darn good.

Not really, the valk redlines at about 6 or 7 grand. And the V-rod's 75 ft. lbs. of torque come at a relatively high RPM compared to most other twins.

Agree with most, but all the 600's except for the Triumph are in the mid high 10's, not high 11's.

I'd like to see them sell a street legal VR-1000.

Their MSRP's may be under 10, but let's see you get one out the door for less than 10. Harleys high resale value hardly makes up for all of there shortcomings.

Yep, posers will be attracted to the Mean Streak, while us cool dudes will be attracted to the VTX!

Default No excuse in being so ignorant now because...

I've *told* you the facts and you choose not to believe it. If you think I'm lying there are plenty of places on the web you can check it out (or try your local dealer) but you are just plain wrong.

My above post specifically mentioned *Sportsters* including the 900cc ones (better known as the 883). You can buy Sportsters ALL DAY LONG under 10 grand in fact anybody who pays even 8 grand for the XLH-883 is surely getting a whole bunch of accessories in the deal, at least I hope so. I'm beginning to see how certain Harley dealers (not all are like that by any means) get away with the outrageous "vaseline tax" they charge --there must be people out there as utterly clueless about Harleys as you are walking into their showrooms!

This is a testament to the mighty V-Max. I don't understand why a 15 or so

year old bike still has an MSRP of something like $11K. However, the power is still pretty awesome. Yamaha, please don't kill this motor. Put it in a street-fighter type bike to compete with the TLS and VTR. That'd be dope. I know it might be a bit heavy, but think of the power. And I know there's more to be had from that thing.

Default Not impressed?

Hmmm VTX; highest torque at lowest RPM, duh.

It's ironic that all these years Harley has been able to stay in business cause they chose not to build motorcycles, making Harley's instead. Now that they have gotten into the motorcycle biz it appears they have a few things to learn.

Honda and Yamaha not to mention Kawasaki, OTH have shown that they can build an OK Harley.

Thanks to Harley's 'traditional' engineering, anyone with a machine shop can make perfect big twin clones. Wonder what's gonna happen next?
