We could let all those prisoners out and bus 'em to Costa Mesa if you're ok with it. I'll drive.

"More than 90 percent of recruits have a high school diploma, compared to about 75 percent of the U.S. youth population.

"67 percent of recruits scored above the 60th percentile on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. The test is designed so that the average young person will score 50 percent.

"Most recruits come from middle-class families, rather than poorer or wealthier ones. Patterns in recent years reinforce this trend, showing a slight dip in recruits from lower socioeconomic groups and a slight increase from upper-class groups.

"Inner cities are actually the most underrepresented area among new recruits. Both suburban and rural areas are overrepresented."

...and with more traffic tickets the city can purchase more mustache combs and additional cases of "the dry look" hair spray for the officers. Gotta uphold that image...

Well, I can't argue with that kind of rigorous research.

U will need a big-ass bus. why we have so many people in prison if we are so much better than places like France? wonder what our unemployment rate would be if so many of us were not in jail? Hmmm...

wonder why there are so few criminals in backward socialist France? Police probly afraid to bust people I suppose.

Given accident statistics, red light cameras are more effective at saving lives and property. Both my kids narrowly avoided serious injury due to "late yellow" runners (at least, that was their story). My son was the third car through an intersection and was t-boned by a van sliding along after unsuccessfully trying to beat a light.

My daughter had the front of her car taken completely off by a late yellow runner. Witnesses said that the light turned green and the first two vehicles (side by side, my daughter and a pickup truck) started moving. The pickup driver saw the car coming from the left and slammed on his brakes. My daughter did the same thing out of instinct, probably. her car was dragged 60 feet by the other driver, who swore he was going 30 MPH max. Both cars were destroyed.

Speeding is much less a problem than failure to yield right of way. Still, speeding and red light cameras will probably be more common, given the way the public drives.

Texas cannot ban them, they have passed federal scrutiny. They may be able to stall them for a while.

I was checking some stats and learned that in the USA 83% of women survive breast cancer. In Britain only 53% survive. Even worse are the emergency rooms stats. If you are seriously injured in Britain you are 6 times more likely to die in the hospital than the USA.

Anyone who tries to sell you on the idea that govt healthcare is a better thing is either a fool or a liar.
