Yep. I agree longride. MO is doing it right... Spend the money elsewhere..You can build some pretty good stuff with things like Tomcat, MySQL, JBoss, php, etc..

And Oracle is a beast to try to work with. It needs armies of higly paid consultants to get working (and keep working) I agree aobut LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) [If you have to aske you don't need to know] DO NOT bleive al of that tripe about open source being unsuported - (well it is true in fact that is not supported by fee for service, but it has wonderful support from the community.)

I am a network engineer ( we work with hardware, wired and wireless systems, and routers, switchs and the like, not to be confused with software engineers (aka code-benders). Not that there is anythign wrong with that.
