I'll be helping Kawasaki Consumer Events with PR at the Daytona motorcycle show (Outside the Speedway, where the demo rides and Kawasaki Semis are parked) Stop by and say "Hi"

"Sonny Barger's first book is next in my que (he's got like FIVE FREAKIN' BOOKS out now!)."

Wow. That's gotta be at least four more than he's ever read.

"Have you contacted them about it, yet? I'm still thinking they will need to have a commitment from you to get the ball rolling."

Wait, were you an expecting an answer to your actual question....

I would love to bring the Buell but I only have one gold star, not nearly enough firearms, the only Harley I've ridden is my pops', no pony tail, way too young, only ride on straight roads in the Midwest, nobody knows who I am....I could go on. And, they would never let a tractor on the track.

Never had any real interest in this crew, but Thompson's book came to me unsolicited. I casually picked it up and I was hooked. His analysis of the roots and early evolution of the Angel's is fascinating; quote: - - -

"The whole thing was born, they say, in the late 1940's, when most ex-GIs wanted to get back to an orderly pattern, college, marriage, a job, children - all the peaceful extras that come with a sense of security. But, not everybody felt that way. Like the drifters who rode west after Appomattox, there were thousands of veterans in 1945 who flatly rejected the idea of going back to their pre-war pattern. They didn't want order, but privacy - and time to figure things out. It was a nervous, downhill feeling, a mean kind of angst that comes out of wars ... a compressed sense of time on the outer limits of fatalism. They wanted more action, and one of the ways to look for it was on a big motorcycle. By 1947 the state (California) was alive with bikes, nearly all of them powerful American-made iron from Harley-Davidson and Indian."

ENJOY the read!
