I've tried logging out and back in, emptying my browser cache, clearing the history, etc., and I still have the same problem. It looks like a file access permission problem on the server, but why would that hit me and not other folks? Hmm, could it be because I donated on Amazon, rather than on MO, and something blip did to recognize that has me messed up?

What?!

I don't see any errors, this is a problem setting the header information in your browswer. What browser/platform are you on? Wait... Mac and IE 5.0. Hmmm, figures, we don't have a Mac here any more. I'll rewrite the ad server to look for Macs and do it a different, safer way. Thanks for the tip!

When an error occurs, it doesn't log an image display and obviously can't log a click-through, so it's clearly a limited problem. But you're right, it drops the total number of ads we can serve.

Also, reload the pages once you're already there and time 'em for how long until you get ALL of the comments.

Thanks!

Heh, as you've noticed, the chat room is the most-finicky (sp?) thing we have, so it always gets beta code well in advance of anything else. So, yeah, it's been a bit edgy lately as I try and sort all of this out.

Sorry about that!

They're mutually exclusive.

I did, however, take a minute to update your account here, it should recognize you as a donor, and you shouldn't be seeing the ads any more.

Hmm, at work the first loaded in 3 sec's while the 2nd page loaded in about 5 seconds. We run a ATM line-

Couldnt tell the difference with @home cable- probably a benefit for dialup users.

Default 1 and 2 Same

I don't see a difference between 1 and 2. With no graphics both pages took significantly more time than your average web page, but both took about the same time to load.

Personally, I thought the 1st page was a little faster. Tried it about 4 times, and the first was about 5 sec faster.
