Well, actually Truman started it by reversing the Roosevelt policy of refusing to support the return of colonial powers after WWII. Ho chi Minh went to WashDC to see Truman and offered the USA CamRanh Bay as a US Naval base if we would keep the French from taking Indochina back.

Truman decided to suck French butt and the rest is history.

Of course, later he stumblebummed us into Korea.

Yep, lots of world peace while the demonrats run the show. Yup.

You're right. I decided to simplify things for KP's sake. Actually Ho thought of the U S as a friend and ally for helping to rid South East Asia of the Japanese. Too bad That Truman showed our true imperial thought process by backing the French.

Actually it was under Eisenhower that our Iran problem began. In '53 the U S sent the CIA into Iran to foment and back the overthrow of the democraticaly elected government headed by Dr. Mohammed Mossadegh and replaced it with the brutal puppet dictatorship of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. I don't mind if there is a process, I just don't want the government to be allowed to do whatever it wants just because it uses its password, 'terror'. Are you saying you think it's ok if the government listens to all your phone calls and decides on its own if you're a terrorist? You're a good man, so you have nothing to hide, right? You wisely trust your government to make that decision? If so, I think you're crackers, speaking of the Brits.

That's true. It's a good point.

Looks like he's starting the multiple posts again. Think Gabe will have the balls to ban him like Sean did?
