Default re: I-hate-lane-splitter-morons

I wasn't aware that any space anywhere on any surface not occupied by a car was a motorcycle lane. Lane splitting indeed reduces traffic. That is why people do it. But so would driving on the shoulder. And even though lane splitting would be slightly safer, we are still violating the car driver's rights to a full lane of traffic. This is okay with me, as long as a car is allowed to split lanes between two motorcycles riding in adjacent lanes.

No lane-splitting here in Arizona, but I don't understand why car-drivers hate lane-splitters in the first place. They're not hurting anything. In the unlikely event that they clip a rear-view mirror, they're going to have to deal with the consequences (which will be much worse for the motorcyclist than for the car's mirror.)

I just don't understand why so may people hate so many other people. I must be getting old.

These guys are assholes and deserve to get fired. Back in 1977 when I was cruising around Cali it was TOTALLY legal to split lanes. I never did it because it was to dangerous, but I agree with the station if they fire them

I'll keep my fingers crossed that you are never a victim of one of these

Lunatics. I think you are right on, calling it a hate crime.

i have experienced what a 500 pound bike and a 250 pound rider will do to a car and although i got hurt pretty bad i inflicted an incredible amount of damage to a volvo.....for gods sake please keep your eyes open when passing cars in heavy traffic cause they get very jealous of our manuverability

Try riding with a large caliber handgun on your hip in plain sight (not califoria I know). I don't advocate violence or shooting anyone but it is amazing how the traffic parts like the red sea....

I used to do it in phoenix all the time, it works like a miracle
