What happened to free speech? The FCC was created in 1934 to regulate the airwaves in the interests of the public. : )

On Esportbike.com, somebody said they knew of one case where a guy opened the door on a lane-splitting rider. The rider walked away with no injuries, the ******* who opened the door got a 600 pound bike in his lap and DIED.

I can see the only real punishment for these idiots is that they be fired. But you know the station won't do that. So I say they be forced to apologize on air to motorcyclists and bicyclists, and forced to take a motorcycle and bicycle safety course, or get the boot.

Yep, it's only comedy until some putz follows threw with it and someone gets hurt. Then how funny would it be. Haha. I can't stop laughing.

Hmm...

On the one hand, I agree with those who say they are encouraging unsafe and illegal behaviour and threatening us in particular.

On the other hand, having seen so much horrible driving on the road (I am not an American and am not in America) that I would actively support the placement of snipers at stop lights to summarily execute those who "break" (go through) red lights.

And where would that put my (incomplete) song, "Road Rage Blues":

"Gonna get me a truck,

Gonna get me a gun,

Goin' out on the town,

Gonna have me some fun;

"Gonna knock some jaywalkers,

Gonna shoot some light breakers,

All traffic violators

Gonna need undertakers..."

Just in case the actual post is as retarded as the preview, I am not Anonymous Squid, I am Sam Blob.

I've never hit an open door on a motorcycle, but I once hit the door of a Lincoln Continental on a bicycle -- followed quickly by hitting the pavement with my left shoulder. That was 21 years ago and my shoulder still hurts. I wasn't wearing a helmet and I consider myself very fortunate that it wasn't my skull or spine that absorbed the impact instead of my shoulder. There wasn't a scratch on the Lincoln or its driver (my front tire just caught the outer lip of the door as I swerved to avoid hitting it as it opened), though I'm sure there would have been considerable damage to at least the car had I been on a 500-pound motorcycle instead of a 28-pound 10-speed. Of course, I wasn't wearing an armored jacket on the bicycle, but even with that protection I wouldn't risk taking that kind of a spill again, especially at the higher speed typical of a motorcycle (I was doing maybe 17-18 mph on the bicycle at the time of the accident). I also once hit an opening car door with a car. I was going less than 5 mph, but nearly took the door right off the other car (a Hyundai). Fortunately, the driver, who opened the door, had not thrown her leg or body out the door before the impact and was not injured. My car (a 1978 full-size Plymouth) sustained a couple of minor scratches. The point? Even the most minor impact with a 3,000-pound-plus automobile involves forces that are potentially lethal. Accelerating into a car door hoping to rip it off would be foolhardy in the extreme, and likely to result in serious injury, if not death, for everyone involved.

What I like best about riding is not having to listen to radio DJ's.

I am just curious, have any of you ever had a driver open their door on you on the highway? Anyone you know? I know car-people always SAY they would do this, but few would actually follow through. Sadly I think it's because they wouldn't want to hurt their cars, not because they have an aversion to causing a cyclist great bodily harm.

Anyway, this is just one more example of the incredible selfishness that takes hold of people once they are behind the wheel of their cars. They can dial a phone, tune in a radio, eat a McNasty triple-burger, and smack the kids, going 10mph under the limit in the left lane; but I'm a psycho if I pass him in the next lane . . . I am pretty sure that I am not alone when I say that I have had car-people try to hit me on purpose. Opening a door on me would almost be welcomed, since I would be much more likely to walk away (and kick some serious ass). Be careful out there!

Publicly encouraging felonious acts of violence against another class of

citizens is criminal. Automobiles are deadly weapons, so it is no different than if they told driver to shoot bikers. If the victims were one of the politically correct groups, the aclu and the socialist politicians would hold a press conference demanding action. Apparrently when someone is engaged in politically incorrect but legal activities, it is ok to advocate penalties including execution.

Christianl,

You rant and rave about people honkin' on fat people, excuse me, weight challenged people and then you mention the sausage king ? Don't try the homophobia creme thing either..That krusty kreme thing that guy hit you with earlier was funny ! Don't take what people write on here so personally. They were simply stating that those DJ's were fat bastards.
