Default Shock Jocks

I think everyone is taking these guys way too seriously. They're shock jocks; it's their job to cause controversy.

We are responsible for our own actions. I certainly wouldn't do something because a pair of shock jocks told me to. If someone does, all I can say is what a sorry excuse they are. I mean, come on!

I very much dislike shock jocks, and I never listen to them. Inevitably, shock jocks get themselves into big trouble searching for that next controversy. The only way to really get after these guys is to ignore them. That's by far the worse thing that can happen to them-- if they don't have listeners, they don't have jobs.

Yeah but thin guys who are jerks don't overlap your plane seat by 6 inches.

My observations of traffic behavior & attitudes over the past 20 years (LA, Atlanta, international business travel) indicate that human life is becoming less and less important.

At times, it seems that drivers see pedestrians, two wheelers, and even smaller cars as inanimate objects. I've wondered often, If a car driver had a choice of hitting me or a telephone pole, they'd choose me because it would hurt them and their car less.

The DJs pursuing comedic response from revenge and injury of others is just a symptom, not the disease.

Ride Safe, biking is too good to let the lowest common denominator of drivers spoil it.

You're right, we are responsible for our own actions and so are the DJs. Just because you'd never do something based on what these two misguided fools say, you over-estimate the general population if you honestly feel that there won't be at least one person out there who will try it...and one injury due to these comments is too many.

Oh, I don't doubt someone would try it, and say it was because the radio guys told them to. My point is that of "personal responsibility." Like I said, I don't condone what shock jocks do; in fact, it really pisses me off. So I DON'T LISTEN TO THEM.

It is true one can go too far. A shock jock in my area, "The Greaseman," got fired for making racial comments, and I agree with that. However, as in this case, I think society is losing touch with the idea that we're all responsible for our own actions.

Is advocating injuring others a good idea? No way. However, you can't blame someone else for your own actions. My kids can't even get away with that.
