If we're not supposed to drink and drive how come bars have parking lots?

Default That's nice but you are forgetting one thing...

That's nice but you are forgetting one thing, the all mighty dollar.

If you think the few billion we lose every year to drunk drivers is a lot of money, you have to ask yourself how many billions more alcohol brings in a year.

I hate drunk driving, and lost my cousin to a drunk driver when he was only 16 so I have a reason other then just being a concerned parent and motorcyclist for wanting them all off the road.

So while it would be nice to try and implement this I just don't think it's going to happen.

Default Getting Rid of Drunk Drivers

Sounds nice and fascist to me. Good luck with implementation.

I thought the USA stood for freedom...

not to mention how much $$ the state makes off DUI anymore. Local paper has special section every day 9 or 10 more perps. Figure huge fine for each, increased insurance, etc. O it is big business.

Lots of people that drink have to drive home. They are too wasted to walk.

Which would you rather face, Marine boot camp for six weeks, or six weeks in a maximum security prison, where you have a lot more to worry about than being yelled at by a drill instructor? Many alcoholics come from backgrounds of abuse, neglect, and other trauma. Drunk drivers should be incarcerated in a mental health facility where treatment is aimed not only at detoxification also toward emotional rehabiliation and self-esteem. Adding more trauma will only aggravate the illness and perpetuate the problem.

Does that include the freedom to get drunk and kill somebody?
