I think this is a freakin' fabulous idea - a professional association for motorcyclists. Lobby the government on the idea that we take care of our own, educate our own, certify our own, insure our own, etc. and all they have to do is make the courses mandatory for beginning riders.

I guess what other people are getting at here is that the Big Four are doing well in that they build wonderful sportbikes but the chances of turning a profit on those specific models are slim and none.

Yamaha sells more than 50% cruisers now. Kawasaki has got a heavy industry background behind it and Honda is , well, Honda. How Suzuki does it is a mystery considering its godawful cruiser line.

Lets see what polaris can use out of its juncture with KTM. I realize the big thing for Polaris right away will be European distribution. But I talked with a Polaris technician at Sturgis on wed. and even the techs' and mechanics want sportier models. Hell over half of these guys at polaris are barely 30 anyway. Can you see a 990 duke engine in a polaris chassis?

At least they're halfway there - the new transmission on the 2006 Buells is supposedly head and shoulders above the old one (not that that was too hard to do!)

Simple. Have GM buy Suzuki.

Who cares anyway. Why do you think

number one on the race track has anything to do with a good street bike. To start fresh would take

years of money lost.
