That was my point. I didn't say it was right, or just, just that, that's how it's done in small towns. Being from a small town myself, I've seen that sort of thing in action. "We don't cotton to yer kind here...it'd be safer if you left before sundown."

I have to assume that the bunch of turkeys you're referring to are the cops. The sheriffs directly contradict themselves between the two stories.

In the original article:

"I hope it was the kind of reception they don't ever want again, and don't return to Josephine County,'' Josephine County Sheriff Dave Daniel told the Daily Courier."

"Police described Vagos as "an outlaw motorcycle gang'' and said their vigilance was justified."

In this court case article:

"We don't target individuals or individual groups," he said."

If they can't keep from lying in this instance then I have to question everything they've said everywhere else.

They look pretty clean cut to me, cleaner than anyone I used to party with. no 1% patches, no "13" no FTW. Looks like a pretty straight up M/C club.

Sounds like Grants Pass Finest was looking for a way to play big city and make some OT

F**k 'em

Like Glendale CA was way back in the 60's. The cops use to escort people to the edge of town at sundown. And most of the bike cops had Foster Grants (al la "the man with no eyes", from Cool Hand Luke).

If you wanted a ticket back then, you drove through Glendale on a Motorsickle.

When you have Angels, Outlaws, and any number of "1%er's" out there working in the "Corp" Sector making bikes and selling apparel are they really "1%er's" anymore? When you prosect these clubs and the prospect no longer have to commit a felony to be admitted -the line between 1%er and 99% gets a lot narrower. Sounds like cops being a**holes to me. Warren Zevon wrote a song called Lawyers, Guns and Money was he talking about the Gov't or Bikers????????

Screw'em. Ticket, follow, ticket, follow..... I was surprized at the PC stance on this. Stereo-types toward MC "gangs" in small towns are there for a reason. If you describe yourself as a "street smart person up to something", expect to be treated like you are up to something.

I'm not going to assume a large assembly of import roadracers are not going to "sideshow" because of my trust in the good on mankind.

I also know 3 guys on sportbikes riding hwy 1, will speed and possibly make an unsafe pass. That would be profiling or common sense, depending on which side you are on.

A gaggle of gobblers.

But, if I'm not mistaken the "Vagos" (short for Vagabonds) were one of the oldest San Fernando Valley badass Harley chopper MC clubs around. That's why I made the Eastwood reference, I read somewhere thats who he was making fun of in the movie.

Per my buddy Bob Goldman (HA '66) (who I just got off the phone with), they got run out of the SFV in the late 70's, and had to move to places like Lancaster & Victorville in order to keep up their nonsense without the oinkers and other bike clubs stepping in. Don't see their "colors" around here anymore (or anyone elses for that matter).

A bad jacket is hard to live down.
