Some of the infractions looked like harassment, yet others looked legitimate. Sounds like the police were aware of problems from this particular group of bikers. I'm only going by what's printed in the article.

So once again, why should I be concerned about the welfare of this particular group of bikers?

What do you know about this group of bikers that I am unawair of that makes you so quickly come to their defense?

Why should I conform to your reality and assume the police are the problem and not the bikers in this case?

Try answering with a little less sarcasm if you can though.

Thanks

Hard to form an opinion on this one. There's some pretty important information that's missing.

1) Are they actually an outlaw biker gang like the Hell's Angels or did the police just make that up?

2) What "confrontations" did they have with the police? What the article described was harassment, not confrontation.

3) What "reputation" do they have?

I'm thinking of rejoining the AMA for GP regardless of our different views on some issues. If they'd devote some resources to a "small" issue like this I'd also be more inclined to cough up some chump change. I can't think of a way not to look at this as harassment of a group that looks and acts differently...

If, in your own words, some of the infractions looked like harassment then why are you so ready to dismiss this as nothing to worry about?

LOL, what do you know about this particular group of bikers that you're so quick to condemn them?</p>

You, your own righteous self, said that some of the infractions looked like harassment.
The police, themselves, said, "We don't know what their intent is. There's a reputation there. We don't know what may come up, so we prepare ourselves.''
And the sheriff said, "I hope it was the kind of reception they don't ever want again, and don't return to Josephine County.''</p>

So the police admit they didn't know the riders' intent and that they acted based only on "reputation" (ie, stereotype). The sheriff admits he gave them the treatment. And you, your own righteous self, can see elements of harassment in the whole chain of events. What's it going to take for you to at least consider the possibilty that the bikers were treated wrongly?</p>

If they were real bada$$es I don't think they would have been hanging out at the trailer park or putting up with a couple of meter-maid cops.
