thanks a lot, torresmr.

also, thanks kman. I remember hearing that Kawasaki had pulled the test bikes. Maybe thats why all the magazines gave it such crap reviews. They were just pissed off. So much for professional objectivity.

Default Pushrod Controversy

Believe it or not, a large percentage of Japanese bikes made since oh, 1970 or so do indeed have pushrods. The thing is, they're usually used to actuate the clutch, in which case throwing a rod is just as bad as if it was actuating valves. Don't believe me? Trot on down to your local dealer and ask.

You want this site to be solely about sportbikes?

Too bad. You've been outvoted by the rest of us.

By the way, if anybody from MO is reading...

The past three months have been great. You've hit cruisers, tourers, budget bikes (WOOHOO!) and GSXRs. Variety is good and that's why I keep coming to this site.

Keep up the good work.

Default hello? genius?

600 cc.

Kawasaki doesn't want to give them a ZX-12R to test. Simple.

He probably meant piston rod. The odds of "throwing" a clutch throwout rod are very slim as there's very little stroke to them.

Re: the original thread.

MO is better than nothing, so whiners beware, there are obviously folks out there that are sensitive on the issue. If you complain about a free service that is your choice to entertain, then you'll get what you deserve. Keep the comments objective, like constructive criticism.

I have to admit though, some of the personal attacks are like the MO/Jerry Springer show...where's the bouncer?

It was a connecting rod, supposedly due to a press person whacking the rev-limiter with like 100 miles on the clock. he was trying to be helpful, lay off.

Ummm, all supersport racing is for 600 cc bikes (except the ducati 74. its kinda like calling the busas/Birds hypersports bikes, and to anyone who has ever flipped on speedvision even, it is as descriptive of the bikes as saying liter bikes for an open class bike.
