Rand was a bit harsh sometimes, but she had a good head on her shoulders.

Unfortunately, the genetic engineering it would take, to change human nature so it functioned ANYWHERE NEAR Rand's vision, I believe would go against her ideals.

Goes to show you that the people who are part of the House and Senate ARE "Above the Law". Makes me sick.

I don't subscribe to her extreme view. I do believe that we as responsible citizens have a duty to help those in need. That doesn't justify huge wasteful bureaucracies or forced "charity" at the end of a govt gun barrel, IMO.

However her depiction of the grasping merchants of greed are spot on. And the most greedy of all are the sanctimonius hypocrites who pimp poverty for votes yet don't personally donate a nickel. Or claim their used underwear on their 1040.

Default Sorry Abe, You Just Crossed The Line

You are certainly entitled to think and write whatever you believe. However, when you commit criminal acts (ie. running from the law and thereby endangering everyone on the road) you are no different than Janklow and this other POS. Should you actually take such action (rather than simply posing on this website) you will richly deserve all the shyt the courts dump on you.

You have a perverted view of what a crime is. Traditionally a 'crime' was something that hurt someone else. There is a difference between breaking an arbitrary law or rule and committing a 'crime'.

Fellow Libertarian, are you Abe?

This is our big chance, you know. Since the 2004 election, IÂ’ve had no trouble getting Bush-hating liberals to agree with the concept that the federal government in general, and the president in particular, has WAY too much power. They donÂ’t mind that kind of power when itÂ’s their guy porkinÂ’ interns in the oval office, but nowadays GWB has them scared to death. And since theyÂ’re smarter than the rest of us (just ask them), all you have to do is plant the seed that Republicans are more likely than Democrats to be president (32 of the last 52 years), and you can see the wave of understanding wash over their faces. Then itÂ’s a simple matter of leading them to the lightÂ….

Love my country. Fear my government.

Forget it Abe. The proletariat have become so inured to snapping to attention when ever the state barks, that they have wiped the difference of malum se law Vs. malum prohibitum dictate from their collective psyche. VWW

Default Save Us From Jailhouse Lawyers and Pettifoggery

I'm well aware of the distinction between crimes mala in se and mala prohibita; both are crimes. Cutting to the chase, "Libertarian Abe" here is willing to run from the "jackboot" on his R1 merely because he got caught and doesn't want to pay the fine, attendant court costs and increased insurance premiums for committing a moving violation. Attempting to justify unlawful flight from police and the attendant risk of injury and/or death to innocent third parties who happen to be on the same road or nearby (you, your wife and kids, and the rest of the "proletariat") by reference to the distinction between crimes regarding criminal intent and those which do not is garbage. So, BMW4VWW, go ahead and defend Libertarian Abe's premediated decision to run from the "Jackboot" after re-reading Mr. Halbert's heartening tale of how he killed 3 innocent motorcyclists (members of the proletariat, of course!) using a stolen SUV while fleeing the Jackboot.
