while it's unfair...don't you think it's a little different...who doesn't drive 87 in a 70 once in a while? not like he blatantly ran a stop sign and killed someone.

From what he says the judge who dropped the ticket is the one who needs a spankin'. He claims he was going to pay the fine and be done with it.

'course he is a politician ....................

Apparently it has not occurred to you that Janklow didn't kill anyone the first twelve or thirteen times either. They just kept letting him off until he did.

Have I driven 87 in a 70? Perhaps. Do I expect to get ticketed if caught? Yep.

The unfairness of a two tiered justice system is the point. While I have done 87 (or more) in a 70 numerous times, I have never had a judge do me the "favor" of fixing a ticket for me. Likewise I'm quite sure that if you or I did kill someone while speeding we would be in for a slightly longer sentence than 90 days. One wonders how quickly this Lt. Gov. would have tried to straighten this fixed ticket out if someone hadn't brought it into the pubic realm. VWW

Or even the "public" realm.

Year's ago my then girlfriend, in her first year as an elementary school teacher, hosted her first "open House" for parents of her students. Afterward, a parent approached her and pointed out that the bulletin board heading for posted notices read (in 3" letters) "Ye Olde Pubic Notices".

OJ escaping justice is a fairly isolated incident. I have a feeling that our "privileged" political class escapes justice fairly often, and the more that the public squawks about it the less likely they are to pass stupid laws that don't seem to apply to them. VWW
