Default Re: a pair of conti's

Only thing this scooter needs is a pair of conti megaphones - and I need some sleep.

Default Re: REDVOLUTION Ducati 999

I am a Ducati fan, but I must admit, both ends of this thing are ugly as hell.

Default How could they loste the single swing arm!??

I CAN'T believe they caved on this. It's been one of their key differentiators (yeah I know the GP bike doesn't have one either. I'll hand on to my 748S for quite a while longer.

I've spent alot of time looking at the pics. and man I think the styling has moved Ducati superbikes closer to Aprilia and the japanese. I can't help but be disapointed.

Check out this pic from an Italian website - which would you prefer?

From the Ducati Website:

Why does the new Ducati 999 have a double-sided rear swingarm?

"It allows consistent savings on production costs and an optimization of timings on the assembly line.

Ducati Corse asked for a double-sided swingarm in order to combine increased torsional rigidity and reduced weight. In addition the length of the new swingarm guarantees better dynamic behavior (less tendency to wheelie and a reduced chance of rear end patter).

The double-sided swingarm allows a stronger clamping of the hub, increasing overall rigidity."
