"For reasons that still confound me, the American market has limited taste for nakeds and standards."

Well, perhaps we just have a limited taste for the fugly ones. I personally love nakeds and standards.

I wonder what it would look like with the 650R exhaust setup.

That thing looks like more fun than bein' a Drunken Sailor on a week-long, all-expenses-paid furlough to an Island full of Beautiful, Horny Women.

Nice review.. great pics..Aren't the reason why standards are popular in Europe is cause they are used as real every day transportation? I think seruzaWa has often pointed out the best bike for commuting is a standard because of the upright seating position and your leverage on the handle bars. I would definitely look at this bike if I was commuting on surface streets a lot. My commute is mostly freeways so a fairing is a must I think but maybe this bike might work... In the U.S. bikes are hobbies I think that is why standards don't sell.. I actually like the quad exhausts of the predecessor.. it was unique.. The exhaust on this bike sticks out like a sore thumb now.. Great job Pete and Fonzie!

I thought they were just stainless pipes that "aged" to that beautiful golden colour 'cuz they got hot (like stainless does).
