Having put 30K on my 96 KLR over the years, better suspension and brakes are huge. Stouter fork tubes are going to be a big improvement. Gotta agree with the reviewer that a six speed tranny would have been a really logical place for Kawasaki to go. All that said the extra weight it's reputed to carry is going to be too much of a penalty despite all those improvements for those of us who use their KLR significantly off road. Now it weighs what the BMW GS does.

Me grandpappy's thoughts exactly. The Versys sounds great for the backroad (like me WeeStrom), but a KLR's a bit more true dirt oriented.

I believe that'd be Benjamins in a wad.

if you ask me. It may be the ugliest bike I have ever laid eyes on. Ive read elsewhere that it is also 50 lbs heavier than the old model. My red 05 is a work of fine art by comparison. Heh, wasn't 05 the year when sales soared? Might it be because the bike was so ugly looking that year in the aztec red scheme? No, that wouldnt have anything to do with it, would it.

Here they go for 350 too, but only for speeding and other traffic offenses. As soon as it crossed the line to reckless, 2500, bang.

Excellent post seruzawa. GenX & Y will show what is important with their wallets, i.e. they only buy 800cc I4s. Just look at the shear volume the VFR does. They sell DOZENS a year.

Besides, this bike only has one cylinder! This price performance calculates to only 25% as much fun as a real motorcycle, i.e. four cylinders.

FUN?

Motorcycles aren't supposed to be "Fun"! The only thing that matters is the spec-sheet and the KPPI ratio.............

But what bike do you get? Seen no evidence so far as to the fact that you understand much of anything.
