Re: Master the Street

Aside from any crashes due to alcohol; usually one is full and has spent all morning "attacking" roads, so confidence is high.

However, reaction-time is down a bit: there's a bit of fatigue from the earlier riding, the body is busy digesting the food rather than supplying blood to muscle and brain tissue (which causes further sluggishness), the mind is distracted (thinking about all the Lies you and your buddies were swapping over lunch), road-conditions have changed while you took a "break" - making it more like a sudden change (for you) rather than a gradual one, et. al.

If one thinks about it for a bit, many more reasons readily become apparent.

The groups I ride with don't drink while (or before) riding. Of all the crashes we've endured, ALL of them have happened WITHIN an hour of a large meal.

If you aim it just right you can get the carcass to land so it's wedged-into the headers. By the time you're ready for lunch, it's nicely roasted..............

I was part of the group of "4" that Pete Brissette was in that day. Very enjoyable class, I just wanted to ride longer! I'm trying to convince my wife to join me for the 2up class now, money well spent!

BTW Pete, we do not refer to our "Goldwings" as "Wingabagos", we prefer "Leanabago" or "Couch Rocket", Thank You very much! -g-
