But really who is being offended and at what level? Is this a real problem?

I don't know if we are really that important. We pay attention to the industry because we are involved with motorcycling. I think the general public as a whole pays as much attention to us as they do to Lacrosse.

I see far more "crazy" activity with the fast and the furious car crowd than with the motorcycle crowd. As mentioned above, everything is extreme these daze(sorry).

Yep, you are right.

At my work (I commute on a motorcycle) a 40-ish overweight woman who drives a GIGANTIC SUV had the gall to complain that I was "taking up a parking place" Well, d'uh- no kidding? And your point is? That you had to drag your wide body a few feet further to reach the entrance? If you got to work earlier you would have a closer spot ,you dummy! Walk you fatso - you need the exercise.

I do a lot of things that most or many people do not. I'm a pilot (ok, wannabe pilot...), I'm an alpine ski racer and coach, I'm a scuba diver, I'm a climber (and yet somehow I'm still in horrendous shape...damned coffee and donuts). I know more people, in each of those persuits, that have been seriously hurt or killed than I do from motorycycling. Yet of all those things, motorcycling is the one that people say I'm crazy for doing.

It's all a bunch of broohaha. There's as much TV coverage of illegal basejumpers getting airtime as motorcyclists.

And to address Fred's concerns, I can't see how it matters what goes on at motorcycle rallies to the general public. The only people who go to those already are in favor of motorcycles. Nobody is going to go to one of these rallies, see some stunta pr0n and say "motorcycles should be illegal!".

...you hafta admit, dose stuntaz can do crazy things with dem mocycles.

Had me a cousin once who usta get drunk and do handstands on his Cushman, then one day the shift knob got stuck up his left sleeve and he crashed real bad into a bus stop on San Fernando road. Now he has to wear a truss.

But I digress. The only time something bad ever happened to me on the street was when I was observing all posted speed limits and riding like john q public. When I was speeding, doing wheelies, berm shots off curbs, etc. I never got a scratch.

Wheelchairs can do real good wheelies btw.

I watched some cat doing an 80 mph wheelie down the hwy with with his "date" on the back of a R1. I know it's wrong, but I was impressed.

Well, I'm not having any luck with the local Cougars, thought I'd try some flatbelly for a change.
