Ya, that's right. Advertise there's scantily clad woman and biker porn at a motorcycle show. Attendance will double next year!!!

Re: Cutting Our Own Throats

For those who say concern about stuntaz is much ado about nothing, here are three wheelie deaths this month:
<blockquote>
Motorcyclist dies in Hyannisport crash

A young motorcyclist from West Harwich died yesterday afternoon after he ''popped a wheelie'' near Craigville Beach Road among four other motorcyclists, lost control and collided with an oncoming car, police said.

Man dies while trying stunts on motorcycle

A 20-year-old man was killed Tuesday evening while attempting to do stunts on a motorcycle.

Ty Griffiths was in the parking lot of an apartment complex near 3375 E. 7800 South about 7:30 p.m. when he reportedly attempted to do a wheelie.

Davenport man dies in motorcycle accident

A Davenport man died Saturday night after his motorcycle collided with a car at the intersection of Central Park Avenue and Main Street in Davenport shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses reported that the motorcycle was doing a "wheelie" at the time of the accident, according to the police report, which said Mr. Heiser was wearing a helmet but it came off during the crash.

Re: Cutting Our Own Throats

Too many riders who are dying are servicemen returning from Iraq. After surviving that hell over there, they come home with invincibility issues. Turns out a high powered sport bike in foolish hands is more dangerous than the insurgents. Food for thought.

Good article Fred. There is nothing to be done about stunting - people will do what they will. I agree that such exploitive enterprises should not be invited to participate in a motorcycle show alongside legit OEMs and aftermarket companies.

Let them get their own 'effin MC show. The stunt video industry appears big enough to do so anyway.

Well I'm 50 and until last year hadn't ridden for 20 years. yes, those irresponsible {read, bullet proof} young daredevils struck me as being out of line {although NOT QUITE the ruination of mankind as we know it} Weeeeellll, then i got a hayabusa and thanks anyway Fred I think I will not renew my membership in the old man's club. If i can figure out how to ride this thing on one wheel 10% as well as some of these guys I am going to officially nominate stunting as the NEW 21st century fountain of youth. Yes my old and young comrades alike, it's that much fun. Feel free to chisel that on my tombstone if it's what kills me. I go secure in the knowledge that it beats being a fat, bitter, old man,,, And, more importantly, 100 years from now nobody will know the difference.

Re: Cutting Our Own Throats

Yes, the answer is somewhere inbetween. You can't lump them all together, some hate bikes no matter what, some don't care until a biker pissed them off.

I agree with Fred that the implied stamp of approval having the stunt porn vendors on the bike show floor is just sending the wrong message, and their blatant recruiting of impressionable youth with tits/ass and 'extreme' everything has no place in that bike show. Their presence implies that they're as much representatives of motorcycling as the AMA, or the manufacturers. Their crass avarice at the expense of other's lives and safety is pretty damn revolting.

I'll admit to being enthralled by awesomely fast or tricky riding, but I'm talking about real racing, not reckless public endangerment.

So there's the solution: make it into a legit sport. Skateboarders have their own parks and competitions, etc., but I couldn't care less about skateboards. Put together a 'stuntaz park', sell tickets, DVDs, t-shirts, etc., and make some huge money instead of encouraging something that will get John Q. Public really hating motorcycles.

Re: Cutting Our Own Throats

I found this article to be a little "out there". Better keep the kids away from cars and "Nopivision" if hot chicks bother you. Sheltering and censorship is not the answer, let parents decide what is appropriate for their children.

If the author went to a motorcycle show and expected to not see hot chicks and stunt videos, he is living in a fantasy world!!

I would also like to note that the photo used with the babies photochopped as slalom posts, the stunting was being done in a controlled environment, not on the street and the riders were wearing safety gear!!
