The Tuono is a silly fun bike. If you need something faster you're Valentino. I rode my 03 from San Diego to Portland in 3 days on the coastal route, and one thing I can say is the seat is chiseled from stone. It's hard to beat on a twisty road, and nothing I've ridden wheelies in second like this thing does.

Yeah, like I'm going to take advice from Kpaul's future brother in law! BTW does Aprilia make hard luggage for the Tuono?

I believe that model year had the infamous "tap the rear brake lever and go over the bars" linked system.

It is horrible.

I don't believe so.

He's got to get his sister-in-law ok with the fact that I don't take orders really well.

I'm a generous guy but I don't ask permission before I buy a faceshield or a new car for that matter.

So where is the Ducati? These are nice if you have cash to burn, but the best buy out there is this category is the S2R 1000. At under $10k, the Duc would have been the budget entry......(Ducati the value entry....did the world just tilt off its axis?)

Nice write up guys. The MV is like a light switch. You can chug it around town and it will comply competently. But open the throttle a little and WHAM! you're full tilt boogie into the stratosphere. The Aprilia I have not had the chance to ride but from your article and from personal friends I hear it is a wonderful ride, even though it's cramped. Although I work at a shop that sells MV, Ducati, Triumphs and such, in the comparo I'd personally be most suited for the BMW. I'll give up HP in a heart beat if the ride is less busy and more enjoyable.

i really like the idea of a standard BMW twin with decent power. it's about time.

now if BMW can just figure out styling. the windshield looks like a generic J.C Whitney item that someone screwed on at the last minute.

c'mon, BMW ... i think your key designers need to get laid or sumthin.
