The Triumph weighs 135 lbs less. It's a better handler and is as fast or faster than the FJR. So how is the FJR 'clearly better'? Maybe it is to you, until you paid 20% more for a bike that will get its ass handed to it in the twisties. Isn't that what sport touring is, going long distance with a bike that is fast and can handle?

Wouldn't the '04 Sprint be the old 955 version?

I agree with you about the Bandit. I had one and it's one of the few bikes I've had that I'm kicking myself in the butt for selling.

I'll be getting another one soon, the best price I've seen so far is $4200, I have the ching but I think I can get one for a little less...........

Yes, but what do the experts at the Burger Barn think?

Better? 700 pound "sport"-tourer? Ahahahahahahaha! 700 pound cruisers are (rightfully) lambasted as pigs, but repackage a 700 pound porker and call it a "sport" and you get oohs and ahhs.

Go figure.

I have to agree. My now-sold ST11 was a great bike. I used it like a car. How boring is that? And it wasn't much fun to maintain, though it didn't really need to be maintained. I did look like a PC (Pacific Coast or piece of crap) without those bags on it. I used to get a bigger thrill looking at an old Sprint frame than I did looking at the freshly waxed ST.

Jeez. My Zooker weighs 620 wet. And it's a gunboat. I can't imagine trying to pilot a 700 pound "sport" motorcycle. How do people fool themselves like this? The king of overweight sporttourers, the ST1300, weighs as much as a 1986 GL1200 Aspencade! The FJR and K1200 aren't far behind.

These aren't "sport" anything. Anything beyond a Sprint, VFR or DuckST is a dedicated touring bike. Spare me the "sport" aspect please. Even the Dynaglide Sport was lighter in comparison to these brobdingnagian "sport tourers."

Agreed. Since when is 120 hp not enough?
