Re: Stinger Folding Trailer

Uh oh, there goes another reason why the interstate travel to get to a track day wasn't going to happen. Hmmm, perhaps now I can justify that beat SV at the dealers, track bike!

Just can't bring myself...

I just can't bring myself to putting one of my bikes on an open trailer, espeicaly one like this.

An enclosed trailer may cost more and take up more space but the bike isn't exposed to the elements.

What happens to it when you ride it?

I've got a lightWeight 5'x10' box trailer I occasionally tow at high velocities through Mass., behind my pickup. It could be Equated as an impromptu "tent" with but a little effort.

Personally; my reason for preferring an enclosed is security, as many of my bikes look as if they've a lot of Kinetic Energy just sitting still - and I don't want to tempt thieves.

Exposing the bike to the elements is the crucial first step in motorcycling. We all have had to go through it.

Actually, I thought the crucial first step was the Suzuki Dealer teaching you how to operate your brand-new GSXR1000; "Brakes and Gas on the right, Clutch and Shift on the left, nowget out there and Give 'Er Hell........"

WHAT MOTORCYCLES ARE FOR

Reader gbrummet is wise in never transporting his bike on an open trailer, exposed to the elements.

Exposure to the UV rays of the sun can adversely affect the longevity of the expensive wax protecting the paint.

It's best to keep a motorcycle in a dark, hermetically sealed chamber.

Don't even look at it.

"as many of my bikes look as if they've a lot of Kinetic Energy just sitting still "

Re: Stinger Folding Trailer

Excellent Review Gabe. Just what I want for Christmas. I hate conning the wife to follow me down to the dealership whenever I need to get maintenance. She is always grumpy about it and *****es about how much tires and valve adjustments cost. Plus I plan to do some track time just to tune up before the big race with longride.

Re: WHAT MOTORCYCLES ARE FOR

Yea I have a lot of bikes I bought over the internet from affrica that came in protective crates.. I was told not to open them because of that very reason.

Yep.. I have a 999R, a V8 guzzi.. and just for fun I bought an enzo.. oddly enough the enzo crate isn't any bigger..

I of course can't look at them but I enjoy them all the same ;)

Re: Stinger Folding Trailer

How come no pics of what it looks like folded up? C'mon, guys, I have to go their site to do so?

Those extra two mouse clicks are tiring!

Still, looks good but still would not be suitable for my one-car garage. Can you stand it up against the wall?

I think I'll try the trailer in a bag.
