What'd ya expect, Ninja heart and all? Those things were Quick back then. That drag racer thing went beyond looks. Fine choice for a first bike even or maybe the V-Max.
I'll always think the 900 Ninja models were something special. |

Do mopeds count? Didn't think so. So my first was a Suzuki X6, the first widely produced 6 speed 250 cc two stroke - with twin leading shoe front brake. Nice thing about two strokes is you can bang the gears down as fast as you like without having to worry about sliding the rear wheel. No slipper clutch was necessary.
I lived in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, and at the time, there was little or no traffic or cops there. With six speeds I could easily keep the motor on the boil at 10,000 rpm, just right for the tight mountain two lanes. I rode Deals Gap before I even knew what it was and never saw another bike there. Perfect bike (for those roads and a new rider) and perfect place. Sigh.
